The Judeo-Christian theories of Genesis are egocentric and anthropocentric, and have no application to real science.
This challenge to the Christian faith is based upon the assumption that man has no unique importance in the world, and individual human have even less importance. There is a theory that our worth as individuals subsists in the role we each take in the progress of humanity as a whole from insignificance to some level of importance. This theory may not be what you believe, but it does proceed from the same assumption.
The assumption is wrong. There is no reason to accept it, and there is no evidence for it. Rather, all the observable evidence in our experience shows that man is unique among all creatures. Does that make the Creation account of Genesis into "real science?" Well, it's as genuinely valid an assumption as the assumption that serves as the basis for this challenge to the Christian faith. Real science isn't concerned with Truth, so the real adversaries here are the Christian faith and some kind of anti-christian faith.
Since the evidence we can see points toward the uniqueness of man, and since it's much better to have been created unique and loved by one's Creator to the point of His becoming a man and dying to provide one with eternal life in heaven, isn't the Christian perspective worth some serious consideration? Read the Bible again, but don't stop in Genesis. Read it to find out what it has to say about God's disposition toward you and His plans for you. Don't discount what He says just because it may sound too good to be true.
